Your child’s First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is a unique intimate encounter with our risen Savior. St. Benilde Parish takes this experience very seriously and devotes two years to your child’s preparation. However, what is vital to your child’s spiritual development is the indispensible formation by word and example they receive from you, their parents.
These sacraments are normally celebrated in the second grade. Your child will receive important catechesis and experience beautiful liturgies as part of our Sacramental Preparation Program.
For information regarding preparation for your child's First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, please contact Mary Kelly at 834-4980 ext. 113.
What wonderful blessings await your family as you prepare your child to encounter Jesus in a most intimate way through the Holy Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist! We hope this time filled with grace will also be filled with lifelong memories and a deep love for the rich gifts given to us through the Catholic Church.
Our Catechism (CCC 2226) tells us, “Family Catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith.” In other words, our job this year is to journey with you and support your efforts as you prepare your child for the “first” reception of these awesome sacraments. We are looking forward to this very much!
