As we have consecrated our parish to the powerful protection and intercession of our Blessed Mother, we have obtained a Blessed Mother Votive Lamp that stands next to the statue of our Lady as a "silent sentinel" and our representative before our Lady's Shrine.
The lamp burns continuous (all 365 days each year) for
your special intentions, petitions for our Blessed Mother's intercession or for anyone who is in need of prayers. This is a thoughtful expression of our sentiments and best wishes for any occasion. And our Votive Light is an act of faith and charity—the light is a symbol of the sacrifice you have made on behalf of someone else—and it is a silent reminder of your prayers for them. Give the candle light a true meaning by your intentions. Let it be your presence at the foot of Mary—your spiritual pilgrimage by which you come to beg our Blessed Mother's help and to thank her for past favors she has granted you. That continuously burning candle will be like a prayer in time of need. It will be a pledge of your devotion to our Blessed Mother who brought the Light of our Lives into the world by becoming the Mother of Jesus, our Lord.
Parishioners may request that the Blessed Mother Votive Lamp burn for one week in memory or in honor of a loved one or for a special prayer intention. Intentions will be published in the weekly bulletin.
